I started my career at Pin Dot Products, where I had the chance to work alongside a talented group developing the Contour U and Silhouette seating systems. What mattered most wasn’t just the design—
it was seeing how those products helped people live more comfortably and maintain their independence.
That idea—building things that genuinely improve everyday life—stuck with me.
In 1999, in the middle of the internet’s early surge, I took a leap and founded Duo Consulting. It was a time of constant change and opportunity, and we were fortunate to work with a wide range of organizations, from the Chicago Public Library and the Chicago Park District to companies like Red Lobster. Each project brought its own challenges, but the common thread was always figuring out how to make technology useful, practical, and human.
Outside of work, the center of my life has always been my family. My wife Arlene and I raised two wonderful kids, and that’s been the most meaningful part of the journey.
These days, I’ve come back to photography—a hobby I picked up at 12 and never completely let go of. It connects to everything that came before: curiosity, craft, and the satisfaction of doing something well.
